Maybe the fit of your Hoka One One wasn’t perfect like your Saucony but that ride was what you need. The best runner for this shoe is the one who loved Saucony, and found Hoka One One. With the Shift 2 it’s going to be 9 like it and 1 doesn’t. If 10 people tried on the Shift, 5 would like the fit and 5 would not. It’s going to fit a great deal more feet. Bottom line the new Shift is totally in the game. I used those two words because in the Shift the upper was strange volume and fairly stiff. I will say the heel fit on the Shift 2 is a better match than the Shift. I don’t do the runner’s loop I just make sure my heel is jammed into the back of the shoe and tie the laces tight. In general the Saucony heel fit is a bit too wide for my skinny feet. These are a bit heavier than my typical training shoe for tempo days. I did a couple tempo runs in it and the only thing I felt was the weight. Long runs – my longest was 2:05 minutes with 1000 feet of climbing and descending. It’s purpose screamed loud and clear to me and it works great. I found the perfect weight and have put 50+ miles in the shoe rather quickly. With the Shift I don’t think I ever found the perfect fit. Typically I run in a shoe once, then find the perfect weight of sock to go with that shoe and always pull that weight sock with that particular shoe. The Endorphin Shift had a wide heel and a fairly strange volume in the forefoot. Endorphin Shift (Black) Endorphin Shift 2 (white) Because of the upper the Shift went from a good execution on a total new shoe to an amazingly good shoe in the Shift 2. 50% of the function and performance of a shoe comes from the midsole/outsole and 50% comes from the upper. This shoe is a perfect example of what I’ve said. The big change from Shift to Shift 2 is in the upper. You’ll find it to be very smooth, quiet and it gets better the more you run in it. The Everrun foam used is not soft but it’s also not firm. The Endorphin Shift 2 uses that exact same midsole. They weren’t trying to make a Bondi, they were simply trying to make a better shoe at that stack height.

Instead Saucony introduced an external TPU cup to help stabilize the heel. Overall though the Endorphin Shift was narrower at the base than the ultra wide based Bondi.
SAUCONY ENDORPHIN SPEED 2 PRO
The midsole has a wrap up the sidewalls that helps to hold your foot centered on the platform and it also has the Speed Roll (rocker) that the Endorphin Pro and Eddorphin Speed have. A whopping 38mm heel and 34mm forefoot was the first indication. The Endorphin Shift was one of those shoes. Slowly but surely over the last 2-3 years as Hoka One One started to introduce shoes closer to the brands without their proven DNA, the brands started to take a closer look. Hoka One One was a trend that the brands let go. Running shoe brands like brands in other industries do a great deal of chasing or copying new trends.

I’ve said this many times before, the running shoe industry gave Hoka One One a free pass. The shoe sat in my closet for about a month before I finally realized this was the training shoe for the Endorphin Pro, it was the Endorphin Shift. It honestly looked like an early prototype that they wanted me to wear test. To be honest the shoe didn’t look finished. There was a third shoe in the box and I was not overly impressed.

Inside was the newly minted Endorphin Pro and a new version of an old stand by the Guide. Combined with the nylon slab in the midsole, this enables you to pick up speed whilst running.Last year a box showed up at my door. The ultralight PWRRUN midsole provides efficient cushioning and relieves muscles and ligaments whilst running. This special design converts the impact energy into thrust for the next stride and supports your foot’s natural rolling motion. These lightweight and quick drying running shoes have outsoles with a Speedroll design. Plus, the upper is very breathable to keep your feet well ventilated. Their durable upper fits your feet comfortably and, in combination with the lacing, gives perfect stability. Their distinguishing feature is that they bring speed and comfort together in perfect harmony as you run, whether you are training on the road or on a running track or treadmill. Are you looking for a comfortable and functional pair of running shoes that you can count on for support in your fast training sessions? Then look no further than the Endorphin Speed 2 by Saucony.
